Meet Lisa Jackson
BA, DHyp, PDCHyp, MBSCH, GHR (Reg), GQHP*
Having helped hundreds of people over the past 12 years to quit smoking, stop nail-biting, lose weight, overcome phobias, gain confidence and beat exam nerves, I’m passionate about sharing the benefits of hypnotherapy with my clients.
I am a Certified HypnoBirthing: The Mongan Method™ Practitioner and HypnoBirthing Fertility Therapist with the HypnoBirthing Institute and have not only taught over 400 couples but have lectured about HypnoBirthing at five London hospitals. I have also trained as a doula (professional birth companion) with the world-renowned birth pioneer Michel Odent. I am a member of the Maternity Services Liaison Committee at Croydon University Hospital.
I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and have been awarded The General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. Members adhere to a code of conduct and are bound by strict rules of confidentiality. I am also a member of the British Society Of Clinical Hypnosis, a professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards and ethical practice.
I have full Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Indemnity Insurance.
Before becoming a hypnotherapist I studied English, Psychology and Linguistics at the University Of Cape Town, South Africa, and worked as a journalist on Cosmopolitan magazine before spending 11 years on Zest, a health and fitness magazine.
In May 2017 I was one of 40 individuals who were featured in The Sunday Times‘s Alternative Rich List aka The Enriched List, as being someone whose life has been ‘rich in experience, rich in spirit, rich in life’, an honour I shared with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, David Attenborough and Banksy.
I’m the author of three best-selling books: Adore Yourself Slim: Eat, Exercise and Hypnotise Yourself to a Healthier, Happier You (published in January 2011 by Simon & Schuster), Running Made Easy (which has sold over 100,000 copies and became Britain’s bestselling beginner’s running book) and the award-winning Your Pace Or Mine? What Running Taught Me About Life, Laughter And Coming Last, detailing my journey from fitness-phobe to 100 Marathon Club member.
I’m frequently quoted in the press and have been a speaker at the Vitality Show, Be:FIT and The National Running Show.
